"The grass is greener where you water it." - Neil Barringham
I learned the most about myself through life’s adversities and challenges. Through my own counseling experience, I learned how to take back control of my life. We hold so much power through our approach and response to conflict and hardship, and adaptability has been a key skill in my pursuit of happiness.
My Colombian roots have always promoted strong ties with family and friends as a source of emotional happiness and resilience. Humans are social creatures, and sometimes our circumstances or difficult emotions cause us to withdraw and isolate ourselves to a dark place, leaving us feeling alone- blinded to the social support around us. Connections with others, whether it’s your family, friends, classmates, neighbors, coworkers or weekly video game buddies is an undervalued pillar in life.
In working with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, family/marital conflict, domestic violence and trauma amongst others, I empower my clients to recognize that they are the author of their lives, and they have the strength to overcome their struggles and rewrite the future chapters that are to come.
I will guide and support you in exploring the barriers that are preventing you from achieving your goals, and help you recognize the support and internal strengths aiding you in your journey. This is your safe space to learn, grow and begin rewriting your happy-ending.
In my free-time, I’m usually outdoors hiking or walking our family dog, spending time with my family, reading or watch shows with my cat, Tessi.
